We're working on a new FOI request/lawsuit for early next year, one that could get actual vital records certificates, not just an index, ~1.6 million of them, and they've never been available anywhere before, and we're just SO SO SO excited and we just wanted to share that. 😁

I think the UC Libraries made the right decision in pushing back on @ElsevierConnect. The library is likely to catch some flak from faculty, but I hope people are able to weigh short-term inconvenience against long-term grift.
